Strategic Goals:
Engaged as Program Manger working alongside the VP of pharmacy to implement technology at all Acute Care sites to manage pharmacy inventory and distribute medications while managing a budget over $8M. Additionally, we created a centralized pharmacy product purchasing with bulk-to-unit dose oral and IV medication packaging site to save Advocate over $4M in spend in its first year of operation.
Scope of Work:
· In the early days of this program, McKesson sold its Automation division to venture capitalist firm who eventually sold this division to Omnicell.
· Worked with VP of Pharmacy and Directors of Pharmacy at all hospitals to determine the automation roll out schedule in conjunction with the central pharmacy build and deployment.
· Worked closely with the vendor to establish appropriate timelines for deployment as significant lead time was needed for manufacturing to take place in Germany.
· Collaborated with construction and corporate IT to perform needed site changes to accommodate the installation of the new technology at each site.
· Created communication tools to keep leadership at the corporate and site level informed on progress and barriers of this work.
